How to Boost a Published Post on Meta
Promote an organic post that already lives on your Facebook Page or Instagram account — without creating new Page content. Get Shouting creates the Meta campaign on your connected ad account and tracks it alongside other paid social.
What you need
- Pro or Agency plan (or active trial) with paid social enabled.
- Meta Ads connected — ad account, Facebook Page, and linked Instagram under Account → Social & Brand Settings → Paid Ad Settings → Meta Ads. See Connect Meta Ads.
- The post must be published through Get Shouting to Facebook and/or Instagram (native platform IDs stored on the post).
- Billing: Meta charges media spend on your ad account. Get Shouting charges a processing fee on the gross budget you approve (Shouter plan: 0% fee).
Where to start a boost
- Campaigns → Organic Social: rocket icon (Boost on Meta) on a published shout row.
- Analyze → Analysis → Top Posts: Boost on an eligible post.
- Schedule / calendar: from post detail when boost is offered after publish.
Boost dialog — settings
- Choose Start Date and End Date (same calendar fields as paid Meta publish; minimum about 30 hours between start and end).
- Enter Gross budget (USD) and choose a Goal (Engagement, Reach, or Traffic).
- Optional audience overrides (age, countries).
- When the shout has both Facebook and Instagram posts, tick Boost Facebook and Instagram together for one Meta campaign with two ad sets and an even budget split.
Start boost
- Click Boost on Meta. Get Shouting previews spend (gross budget, processing fee, net to Meta) and creates the campaign on your ad account.
- Shopify-billed brands may need to approve a one-time processing fee in Shopify before the boost completes.
- On success you are taken to Campaigns → Paid Social → Manage Live Ads. You may also get an in-app Boost is live notification and a link to Meta Ads Manager.
After boost — manage and analyze
- Campaigns → Paid Social → Manage Live Ads (Meta tab): pause or resume delivery; change end date or gross budget where allowed.
- Boost rows use
BOOST_POST— they appear even when the shout is not in a Get Shouting Campaign folder. - Analyze → Paid Social → Meta — performance after the insights sync.
Posts that cannot be boosted yet
- Facebook video posts whose stored ID is not a full Page post id (
pageId_postId) — blocked before any Meta call. - Unpublished posts or posts still waiting for native platform IDs.
- Non-Meta networks (Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.) — boost supports Facebook and Instagram only in v1.
Troubleshooting
- No Boost button or rocket disabled: Requires Pro/Agency, Meta Ads connected, and a published Facebook or Instagram post with a stored native platform id (publish through Get Shouting first).
- Meta shows a campaign but Manage Live Ads is empty: Contact support with your Meta campaign id — we can reconcile the row from Ads Manager.
- No notification after boost: Contact support if boost notifications are missing for your workspace.
- Instagram permission errors: Reconnect Meta Ads under Paid Ad Settings.
