Install Meta Pixel & Google Tags on Your Store
Paid ads need three layers: store tracking (pixels/tags), ad platform accounts, and Get Shouting Paid Ad Settings. Connecting your store in Get Shouting syncs products — it does not install Meta Pixel or Google tags.
Part A — Configure Get Shouting
- Meta: Account → Social & Brand Settings → Paid Ad Settings → Meta Ads → Connect → Save ad account → Conversion pixel → Save pixel (or None (link clicks only — traffic and engagement)). Optional: Save optimization, Save audience defaults.
- Google: Paid Ad Settings → Google Ads → Connect → Save customer account. No Google tag UI in Get Shouting.
- The Meta pixel you select must match the pixel ID receiving events on your storefront.
Part B — Shopify: Meta Pixel (recommended)
- Install Facebook & Instagram from the Shopify App Store if needed.
- Shopify admin: Sales channels → Facebook & Instagram.
- Settings → Share data settings → enable Customer data-sharing (Maximum recommended for Conversions API).
- Connect an existing Meta pixel or create new → Confirm.
- Verify in Meta Events Manager → Test events. Official: Shopify Help — Meta pixel.
Part B — Shopify: Google Ads conversion tracking
- Install the official Google & YouTube app from the Shopify App Store.
- Connect Google Ads and complete conversion measurement in the app.
- Migrate legacy checkout scripts to the app if prompted. Official: Google Ads Help.
- Do not duplicate the same conversion ID in multiple tag implementations.
Part C — WooCommerce: Meta Pixel
- Install Meta for WooCommerce plugin (WordPress → Plugins → Add New).
- Marketing → Facebook → Get started → connect Business portfolio, Page, Ad account, and Pixel.
- Conversions API is integrated in the extension. Official: WooCommerce — Meta for WooCommerce.
- The Get Shouting WooCommerce sync plugin is separate from Meta for WooCommerce — install both if needed.
Part C — WooCommerce: Google conversion tracking
- Install Google for WooCommerce (Google Listings and Ads) and run the setup wizard.
- Enable Google tag and conversion tracking in extension settings.
- Do not use the same conversion ID in both Google for WooCommerce and Site Kit simultaneously.
End-to-end checklist
- Store connected in Get Shouting (optional for publish; required for store-based campaigns).
- Meta Pixel / Google tag installed on storefront; Purchase events visible in Events Manager or Google Ads.
- Meta Ads and Google Ads connected in Paid Ad Settings; same pixel ID selected in Get Shouting as on store.
- Paid ads beta access if publish checkboxes are hidden.
Common mistakes
- Pixel only in Get Shouting, not on store — Meta cannot optimize for Purchase.
- Two Meta pixel installs (app + theme code) — inflated events; use one method only.
- Google tag in theme + Google & YouTube app — duplicate conversions.
- None pixel in Get Shouting but expecting ROAS — select store pixel and Save optimization → Purchase.
