How to Connect AI Assistants
Use Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok with Get Shouting through MCP; plan campaigns, draft posts and email, and analyze performance from chat.
Get Shouting publishes a remote MCP server so your AI assistant can work with every brand you already have access to. Your assistant writes on its own model; Get Shouting stores drafts, previews, schedules, and sends. Publishing, sending, and ad spend always require your explicit approval in chat.
Requires: A Get Shouting account with at least one brand on an active trial or paid plan (Basic, Pro, Agency, Shouter, and other paid tiers). If your trial ended, open Account → Billing before connecting. Paid ads, surveys, journeys, and sending follow the same plan rules as the web app.
Supported Clients
| Client | Sign-in | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Claude (Desktop, Cowork, claude.ai) | OAuth | Add a custom connector; sign in with Get Shouting when prompted |
| ChatGPT (Developer Mode) | OAuth | Custom MCP server URL from the Account page |
| Gemini (gemini.google.com, Gemini mobile app) | OAuth | Add a custom app in the web app; personal Google accounts in the US only (see below) |
| Grok (grok.com) | OAuth | Custom connector at grok.com/connectors; server-side confirm before any publish or send |
Connect from Get Shouting
- Sign in at getshouting.app
- Click your display name (top right) → open Account
- Open the My Profile tab (account?tab=personal) and find AI Assistants (MCP)
- Choose your Client (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok) and copy the Connector URL
The URL points at Get Shouting's remote MCP gateway and includes a ?client= value for your assistant (for example https://www.getshouting.app/api/mcp?client=claude). Paste that full URL in the assistant's connector settings ; not into chat. The Account panel uses OAuth only; it does not show API token generation or revoke controls.
The same step-by-step copy lives in the product under Help → Connect AI assistants.
Add Get Shouting in Your Assistant
Claude (Claude.ai or Desktop App)
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter the name Get Shouting, paste the connector URL from Account, and click Continue.
- Review the sign-in settings Claude detects, choose Sign in now, and click Add.
- Sign in to Get Shouting and approve access when asked.
- In a chat, click + at the lower left, then Connectors, and turn Get Shouting on.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner may need to add the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web; members then connect from Customize → Connectors.
Menus change over time; see Anthropic's connector guide if a step looks different.
ChatGPT
- Open chatgpt.com/plugins.
- Click the plus button, then choose Add custom MCP server.
- Enter the name Get Shouting and paste the connector URL as the Server URL.
- Set authentication to OAuth.
- Read the risk warning, select I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
- Install the plugin, sign in to Get Shouting when asked, and use it in a chat.
Which plans and workspaces can add a custom server is decided by OpenAI and your workspace admin. See OpenAI's custom MCP server guide.
Gemini (Gemini.google.com)
- On a computer, open gemini.google.com (custom apps can only be added in the web app).
- Click Settings, then Connected Apps. If you do not see it, open Personal Intelligence first.
- Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app.
- Paste the Get Shouting connector URL as the MCP server URL and click Next.
- Sign in to Get Shouting and approve access on the consent page.
- In a chat, type @ and choose Get Shouting so Gemini uses it for that prompt.
Google currently limits custom apps to personal Google accounts (not work or school accounts), users 18 or over in the US, in English, with Keep Activity turned on. Once added, Get Shouting also works in the Gemini mobile app. Gemini asks you to confirm write actions, and Get Shouting still requires its own confirm step before anything publishes, sends, or spends.
Menus change over time; see Google's custom apps guide if a step looks different.
Grok (Grok.com)
- Open grok.com/connectors.
- Click New Connector, then choose Custom.
- Paste the Get Shouting connector URL as the MCP server URL and save.
- When Grok prompts you, sign in to Get Shouting and approve access on the consent page.
- In a chat, turn on the Get Shouting connector for that conversation.
On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin may need to add the custom MCP server in console.x.ai before members can connect. See xAI connector docs.
Safety and Approvals
- Confirm→commit: Publishing, sending email or SMS, and paid ad spend use a two-step flow in chat. The server binds each commit to the preview you approved.
- Paid ads from chat: No Get Shouting processing fee on ads launched from an assistant. Ads scheduled to start within 24 hours may be created paused until you approve them in the app.
- Gemini and Grok: These assistants do not show the same visual review panels as Claude or ChatGPT, but publish, send, and spend paths are still gated on Get Shouting's server.
OAuth Consent
Your assistant email and your Get Shouting email do not need to match. MCP access is tied to the Get Shouting account you approve.
After you connect, the browser shows Signed in to Get Shouting as …, the requested scopes, and Brands this connection can reach.
| If… | Click… |
|---|---|
| The Get Shouting email owns your brands and subscription | Allow access |
| You are signed into Get Shouting as the wrong user | Sign in with a different Get Shouting account, then Allow access |
| The brand list does not look right | Switch Get Shouting accounts until the list is correct, then Allow access |
| You do not want to connect | Deny |
If you already approved the wrong Get Shouting account, remove the connector in your assistant and connect again.
Focused Connector URLs (Optional)
The Account URL loads the default tool surface (campaign orchestration). You can also add a separate connector that points at a focused path on the same host (each listing exposes at most about 40 tools):
- Get Shouting Campaigns ; plan and schedule campaigns across social, paid social, and email.
https://www.getshouting.app/api/mcp/campaigns?client=claude(swapclient=for your assistant) - Get Shouting Social ; draft, schedule, and publish social posts and manage related paid social ads.
https://www.getshouting.app/api/mcp/social?client=claude - Get Shouting Email ; email newsletters, promotions, and blasts.
https://www.getshouting.app/api/mcp/email?client=claude - Get Shouting Analytics ; performance reporting and optional PDF export; your assistant writes the analysis.
https://www.getshouting.app/api/mcp/analytics?client=claude
Optional Access Restrictions (Advanced)
Append query parameters to the connector URL if you want a narrower connection (full access is the default from Account):
| Parameter | Effect |
|---|---|
draftOnly=true | Draft and preview only ; no publish, send, or spend tools |
readOnly=true | List and analyze only ; no creates or updates |
After You Connect
Ask your assistant what you want to do ; for example, plan a campaign, list brands, or draft a social post. It loads the right tools automatically (use choose_workflow when you need a different tool set than the default). To post to social platforms, connect those accounts first (Connect Social Accounts).
Try saying: “Create a social and email campaign promoting getshouting.com/features.”
Disconnect or Revoke
- Remove the Get Shouting custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok settings, or the custom app under Settings → Connected Apps in Gemini.
Troubleshooting
- Subscribe / trial message: Renew or start a plan in Account → Billing, then reconnect.
- 401 unauthorized: Remove the connector and connect again; complete OAuth sign-in on the Get Shouting consent page.
- Wrong brands in the assistant: Reconnect; on the consent page choose Sign in with a different Get Shouting account, then Allow access.
- Social publish fails: Connect the platform in Social & Brand Settings first.
- Paid ads blocked: Upgrade to Pro or Agency and connect ad accounts in brand settings.
- No “Custom apps” option in Gemini: Sign in to Gemini with a personal Google account (not work or school), turn on Keep Activity, and check that you are in the US with English selected.
- Service unhealthy: Open getshouting.app/api/mcp/health ; connect when status is healthy (or degraded with non-blocking notes). Contact support if status is unhealthy.
